Alas Week 5 approacheth! Animania has come and gone as we welcome yet another week of uni! Assessments are piling up, and we may be weathered and ragged as the days draw to a close, but the hints of Spring are showing through with the warm sunshine and clearing showers Wink That enough to clear your head? XD

Just to reiterate: Wednesday's screenings have been canceled due to low turnout, and Friday's are likely to follow. Art socials are still on at Wentworth Lv 2, 2-4pm, so whether you've got a Manga project to work on, or just want a place so socialise with like-minded folks, drop on by and say hi Wink

-EVENTS-

There's a Games and Trivia Night to be held at the end of Week 6 on Friday 5th September, 6-9pm... We are still confirming the venue (which will be at Usyd) and the cost price (if any) but please keep this date in mind as it's coming up real soon! It's a great time to unwind, relax and laugh along for some trivia fun and party games, so be sure to invite your friends as well!! There'll be prizes and food too, so get in quick!! RSVP to Paul at asst_events@suanime.org if you haven't done so already, cos we're all looking forward to seeing you there! Grin

Also, we'll be hosting yet another K&E event in our upcoming mid-sems! It'll be held on Thursday 2nd October, with the following details!

Hope you've all had a good week thus far! I've a few announcements to
make so let's get ready ^o^

First, a big congratulations to Turin Montgomery Hughes for winning
our Badge Design Competition! Thank you also to our other wonderful
contestents... we love all the art submitted and really had a tough
time choosing the winner, so thank you for submitting!! (we may even
surprise you too!!) >_^

You can check out Turin's fantastic art on our latest badges hitting a
convention near you... speaking of which, Animania is on at the end
of the week!! So for those of you who haven't pre-registered never
fear! You can still get tickets at the door for $35, and it's held at
the Australian Technology Park, Locomotive Workshop Exhibition Hall,
Locomotive St, Eveleigh NSW 1430 (adjacent to Redfern Station, walk
through to the end of Platform 10) on Sat 23rd-Sun 24th August
10am-6pm!

Regarding screenings, it looks like that Wednesday's will be cancelled from now on due to low turn-out, and Friday is likely to follow ...
but all other days are set to continue so never fear ^^ In other
words, if you've been busy lately to make it to screenings, but still
have a hankering for more anime, you should visit our librarian!! Send
Ben a buzz at library@suanime.org or come see him personally around
Wentworth Lv 2 for all your anime needs! >_^

Also, as I've spammed before XD, we have a very awesome Games and
Trivia Night coming up at the end of Week 6! That's right, the trivia
you love, AND an interactive (non-console) games night to party the
night away! It's on Friday 5th September, 6-9pm... Venue and costs are
currently under discussion, but will be informed soon! If you're
interested, and I highly recommend you do, please RSVP to Paul at
asst_events@suanime.org!! It'll be a great night out, with dinner to
follow. Guests and friends are welcome too, the more the merrier! ^_<

How y'all doin'? It's Week 3, and it seems like things are just gettin
chillier by the minute! Brr!! XP

So, hope y'all enjoyed the screenings this week and din't 'av too much
trouble gettin' there! Speakin o' which, turnout for Wednesday's
Screenings was, well... a tad low? Maybe cos every'uns busy that time,
so we'll keep Wednesday's this week and maybe the week after too, but
if turnout's low agin, then we'll prolly havta cancel it officially,
y'know? Whaddaya say, keep it or leave it? Actions speak louder than
words! XD

Also, thot y'all should know that Friday's screening will ALSO be
finished after Week 4 in time for the final episodes of Shigo-fumi and
Spice & Wolf... If y'all have any queries about the screenings we 'av
this year, be sure to drop a line to our Screenings man, Danny, at
screenings@suanime.org.

Dun forget we also got our mega cool SUAnime Lending Library at yar
fingertips! XD Chill on out by visiting Ben or emailing him at

Hope you're all ready for some fun and seriousness this semester! For those of you who know someone who's supposed to be on the mailing list but STILL hasn't been getting them, can you please tell them to keep checking the website www.suanime.org for updates and events, AND to email me (at secretary@suanime.org) of the problem please? It appears that not many of you knew about our Welcome Back BBQ last Thursday, so missed out on some awesome free food and drink* (free for suanime members that is) and we missed seeing a lot of people as a result but don't worry, we may plan another BBQ for later this semester to make up for it

Thank you to those of you who came to SMASH! convention last Saturday and said hello to us!! Hope you all had a good day for a look-see for crazy anime events and maybe participated in some of the competitions too, said hello to the sei-yu Hidenobu Kiuchi, then relaxed with light refreshments at the Maid Cafe / Manga Lounge before winding down to some good ol' trivia! Some of our execs were in cosplay too, so if you didn't catch them then, better luck next year- heh

Hope you had a great time during the winter holidays!! Thank you to
those of you who turned up to our K&E and ice-skating events, hope you
all had a grand time just as much as we did >w<

So, guess wot? Semester 2 is here, and what better way to welcome the
new semester than a Welcome Back BBQ! XD It's free for all SUAnime
members and it'll be held at Manning Forecourts (BBQ area *watch for
the SUAnime banner!) on Thursday 31st July 12-2pm!

At the end of the first week, SMASH convention is on at UNSW.
Pre-registration has already closed, but if you're free, you can still
rock up at the door for $15! A refresher on the details is shown

Oof, would you look at that!? In a blink of an eye, we've reached the last week of the Winter holidays! Hope you all had a good break thus far, and ready to roll in the next Semester's worth of work, sweats and good fun -^_^-

Coming up this week, we've got Ice-skating! RSVP's closed last Friday, but if you need a refresher on details, here they are again:
