Chibi Execs
What is a chibi? In Japanese chibi means little. In SUAnime, the chibi team is basically people who are interested either in becomming an exec next year and want to show that they’ve got what it takes or perhaps they just want to help out with the club when we need it
What do we ask people to do? Sometimes when we plan an event that’s too big for us, we need a bit of extra help. Sometimes that means we’ll pay for people to come into conventions and help us, other times it means coming to events and to help guide newer members around
Is it hard work? It can be! Normally it’s pretty straightforward though, we’d never ask anyone to do anything that has much responsibility, that’s what the exec team is for. If you’re helping at a convention, there is always a trained exec with you, if you’re helping with events, you’ll always be briefed on what you need to do before hand. It’s pretty painless and helps make the club more awesome!
But what’s in it for me? Well, besides occasional free merch, convention entry or simply being cool, if you use the experience to become an exec, that looks brilliant on a resume! The club president is qualified to act as a reference and write letters of recommendation on your behalf, it’s a way of learning new skills and meeting cool people without all the stigma of having a real job
I’m totally sold, how do I join? Simply send an e-mail to Ben at personnel@suanime.org. He’ll put you on the special chibi mailing list keeping you up to date on everything we need help with!
