If you've got an artistic streak, currently working on the Manga Anthology or the latest piece of art, or just want to chillout with the rest of the Anime crew to talk about life and anime in general, come along to our Art Social, starting Week 3!

Wednesdays starting Week 3, 2-4pm, Wentworth Lv 2

Art Compy XD | Sunday, July 6, 2008

Attention all budding artists out there!!

Ever wanted to make your mark on the public world? How about seeing your art on someone's shirt, backpack, satchel, hat or scarf? How about a whole LOT of people donning your art because they love it??

That's right minna-san, I'm talking about BADGES; they're cute, convenient and compact, and are they LOUD?? What a way to show the anime community what you're made of when you can show it off like this!!!

SUANIME is holding yet another competition for the budding artists of the community, and this time it's badges!! Your designs could be featured as the next set of awesome badges that will be sold at conventions like Animania, SMASH and Supanova!!!

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, all you need to do is produce 5* designs which you think may be sold as badges. The designs should meet the criteria listed below. *There is no set minimum number of badges accepted, but please keep your designs for the competition to approximately 10 at most.

CRITERIA

* Dimensions: Badges are designed in circular perimeters. To make a 35mm badge, create the outer circle with a 46mm diameter. This
circle must be visible for printing. The inner circle is created with a 31mm diameter where your design should fit within. The inner circle
must be deleted
* Theme: There is no set category/theme – use your imagination!!!
* Designs must be in colour with 300dpi resolution!
* Designs may NOT contain images or language that SUAnime deems as inappropriate or offensive (i.e. NO explicit hentai, yaoi, yuri, gore etc- you get the picture )

TIPS

The designs are ultimately SMALL. This means, simplicity may be the key to winning this competition. Designs with too much detail or too abstract may not be effective as badges.

The best way to hand in your designs is to have them printed to scale or email your designs to us (see details below)

JUDGING

SUAnime Execs will make the decision based on originality, creativity and functionality as a badge. We will announce the winners by email and newsletters, along with the prizes

COMPETITION CLOSING DATE

5pm Friday 8th August 2008 (end of Week 2 Semester 2)

Please hand your printed/emailed designs with your:
-full name
-SUAnime Membership number
-title of work (optional)
-email and mobile contact number
to the SUAnime Execs (preferably Art Directors Lawrence or Maho)

Any queries or entries may be directed to Lawrence (art@suanime.org) or Maho (asst_art@suanime.org)

BBQ Over, But the picnic/tour is so soon!!! | Thursday, March 6, 2008

Hey all,

The BBQ was rather successful and the turnout was higher than previous years, even with a slightly difficult location to be found at!! Thats why we ran out and had to dash to Broadway to buy more:)

Coming up this Saturday(8th) is the picnic + tour of the cities anime hot spots! Meeting near the stairs between uni and Victoria park there will be a picnic @ midday. Lots of us will be wearing our suanime shirts so it shouldn't be that hard to spot us. Suanime will be supplying bread and various toppings for sandwiches for everyone to enjoy. Feel free to bring your own sandwich insides or request either myself or Paul to get it for you (emails will be at the bottom of this). If it rains we'll be inside Broadway shopping centre, in the food court.

After everyone;s stuffed themselves on sandwiches, we'll be starting our long tour through Sydney, passing by various Anime/Anime-related stores/hot spots. This includes some places listed on your Suanime card, which provides discounts!

So if your interested and are coming please RSVP Myself (Mat) (events@suanime.org) or Paul (asst_events@suanime.org) ASAP
