{Moyashimon - Screening on Mondays Sem 1 2008}

...Such is the charm of Moyashimon. Each episode is concluded with a 'microbe theatre' section, which allows the watcher to learn basic information regarding the featured microbe/s. More than just a typical university tale, Moyashimon follows the extraordinary adventure of a boy with an extraordinary gift, while finding a purpose for this gift of his -- proving that sometimes, good things -do- come in small packages.

{Baccano! - Screening on Thursdays Sem 1 2008}

Aired: 26/7/07 - 1/11/07
Produced By: Brains-Base, Aniplex, MOVIC
Episodes: 13
Baccano! I'm not sure why the exclamation mark is in the title, but this anime (whose name means ruckus in Italian) sure deserves it. In a relatively-short run of 13 episodes, it nonetheless manages to weave a solid, colourful tale filled with old-school mafia intrigue, psycho killers that are somehow sympathised with, romance and tomfoolery, torture, revivals (lots of revivals XD), and even a philosophical ramble here and there.

{Darker than Black}

Aired:5/4/07 - 27/9/07
Produced By: BONES
Episodes: 25
For someone who enjoys the dark, the mystifying and the supernatural, it came to no surprise I would pick the anime aptly titled Darker than Black to watch. While the show is definitely one for the older masses - a conglomeration of philosophy, blood and death, emotionless pragmatism - it nevertheless manages to create an amazing story that questions what it means to be human in a short span of 25 episodes.

{Trinity Blood} *Spoilers*

Aired: 29/4/05 - 28/10/05
Produced By: GONZO, WOWOW, Victor Entertainment
Episodes: 24
Trinity Blood features...a hot but not terribly original guy called Abel, who is a Crusnik - a kind of uebervampire who feeds on other vampires' blood......The music for this anime, though, was very well done - especially Inori, which, together with the suddenness and futility of Abel's death and Esther's resulting self-recrimnation, actually moved me to tears. However, it's frustrating getting teased by interesting flashbacks regarding Cain's and Abel's backgrounds. Along with Abel's black wings and Cain's white wings, this seems to be the key to the rift between the two brothers.

But I'd definitely watch it again, if only for the art and music. What can I say, I'm a sucker for bishounen. :D

{Kashou no Tsuki}

Aired: 19/12/98 - 21/1/99
Produced By: Four Some, Tokyo Kids, SPE Visual Works
Episodes: 2
In any case, amidst a pretense of a plot involving attacks from some neighbouring shaman, who is voiced by the delightfully dry voice of Shiozawa Kaneto (Seiyuu for Iason Mink of Ai no Kusabi), there's frustration abound as Kagetsu enters puberty and will die (his body will waste away?) if he doesn't mate with someone.

{Zetsuai, Bronze, Cathexis}

This anime didn't touch me. It was just too sudden and unexpected, and quite crazy, the way the characters (well, mostly Kohji) acted. While the artwork was much better than I expected, I didn't like the way they (mostly Kohji) bandied "love" around, nor did I like the apparent unconcern Izumi feels for Kohji. There was, however, one part that I liked - while Kohji was speeding towards the airport in his motorcycle, he mentioned loving someone so much the two of them would telepathically hear the voice of each other's hearts. And when he first wakes up from his coma, this is exactly what happens. But when Izumi was told Kohji couldn't speak, and his mouth had only moved the first time, he seemed to refuse to accept the link.
